Sunburst 2025

I just signed up for the annual Sunburst 2025 Races! I’ll be running the 10K! I have never run a marathon before so in hindsight perhaps I should have signed up for the half marathon. I haven’t run for sport since middle school! However out of shape I may feel today, I’m up for a challenge. I have 3 months and eight days to get ready!

Bursting with Change

To prepare for the Sunburst race, I’m going to start running next week. It will be important for me to start stretching, warming up, and running now to condition my body and my lungs. Until August of last year, I was a heavy cigarette smoker. I was up to a pack and a half a day when I quit.

Sunburst 2025 Details

The Sunburst 2025 10K is 10km long, or 6.2 miles. The event will start and finish at the Century Center in downtown South Bend. The race kicks off at 7:35 for the 10K. There is also a 5K run (Kickoff at 7:00 a.m.) and a 5K Fitness Walk (Kickoff at 9:00 a.m.).

Sunburst 2025 is a race that fundraises for Beacon Children’s Hospital. All race proceeds and donations continue to benefit the children and families receiving vital services through the Child Life and Creative Services Program.
