A Collection of My Thoughts on Healing and Growth

February Wrap-Up

February

February is ending in the blink of an eye. I feel like it lasted five minutes. I got used to hating this whole month because in the past it has felt like it dragged on. This year, it came in, gave me a little wave and a smile and now it’s leaving quietly. This is not me complaining though because Spring is coming!

February was a productive month for me. And a restful one. Embracing the latter is new for me. I have often thought of rest as lazy. Surely due to my life as a high-functioning co-dependent woman raised in America and career as a waitress, “If you have time to lean, you have time to clean.” The toxicity makes my skin crawl.

February Fun

In February I read six books. Seven, if I can finish Brene Brown’s Atlas of the Heart before work. That makes four of her books in one month. What can I say? Shame deeply interests me. This month I also read Glennon Doyle’s Untamed, Michael Stinger’s Untethered Soul, and Nicole Sachs’ Mind Your Body.

On Valentine’s Day I decided to start a Blog-A-Day challenge! I have missed a couple of days but have found it really helpful to just schedule an hour to write. Normally, I’m a quality over quantity type of girl, but I’m trying to gain some momentum by just doing the work, and also, I’m trying to judge myself less.

Next month, Spring takes over on the 20th! I just received notice that my request for PTO has been approved. I’m going to Utah to meet my long distance bestie, Jaci! I’ve never been to Utah but I’ve seen pics and I’m so excited! I met Jaci through our book club on TikTok and LILLES group on Facebook. She is hosting a Spring Equinox Women’s Circle and I cannot wait! I still have to buy my plane tickets. At 41, I’ve never booked a flight anywhere. I’ve been on trips, but they’ve always been booked by someone else. “Skited!” A word used by Glennon Doyle and her family about the times that they’re excited and scared seems suitable.

I hope you all had a great February as well! Thanks for reading!
